Welcome to the official site of Bas aan de Stegge. With a master in Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management (MPhil) from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (BSc) I am bridging the gap between engineering and management. My passions are project management and new technology development.
Work Experience
Lobster goes Benelux! As Regional Manager my aim is to successfully assist the German based Lobster with it's expansion into the Benelux.
As Business Developer I am supporting the Siemens Netherlands' CEO in assessing markets, evaluating company functions and implementing strategy to secure future growth.
As Project Manager I helped realise the renewed Closed Circuit Television, Public Address and passenger information systems for the Amsterdam Metro.

MPhil in Industrial Systems Manufacture and Management (ISMM)

University of Cambridge
The MPhil in Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management (ISMM) is a one-year postgraduate programme designed to equip numerate graduates, primarily from Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths backgrounds, with the skills, personal development and industrial experience to be immediately effective in their early careers in industry.
The BSc in Mechanical Engineering is a three years programme aimed to prepare for employed throughout society, primarily in technology, both for large multinationals such as Unilever and Heineken (or Siemens, red.) and for smaller engineering firms. The Mechanical Engineering degree programme consists mainly of mathematics, mechanical engineering and typical subject-related courses.

Extracurricular Activities
The Strategic Boards helps the society meet its long-term objectives and support the current team in successfully designing, building and racing their electric car.
Along with a group of students, I conducted market research and created a development strategy for a 3D printing technology developed by researchers at the University of Cambridge.
As Team Manager I lead a group of 9 full-time and 65 part-time students that competed in the Formula Student competition and was responsible for all technical, operational and financial decisions.
As Powertrain Engineer I supported the development of the structural components of a wheel mounted electric drivetrain.
